A new section has been added to GoldStarGarden.com. Because there are so many great Veteran Support Websites out there, we've decided to dedicate a whole page to listing them for you. Of course, we could always use help with our list. If you know of a great site, please send an email over and we'll check it out.
Also, please be sure to become a fan of the
Gold Star Garden if you have a Facebook. We have over 100 followers nationwide, and are eager to grow further

A New Year
We've been busy already this year.
Mr. Richard Poole has agreed to act as general contractor for the garden. With his help, we are hoping for a September 11, 2010 dedication date.
If you have a facebook or twitter account, you can now follow the garden on both sites. For facebook,
join our group and be sure to invite all your friends. We are also creating a Fan Page. Our following on
Twitter isn't very strong right now, but with your help, we can get follows from all over the world.
Yellowbook is sponsoring the garden, and helping us get our name known state wide, and possibly even nationwide in the future.
Coming soon will be pictures of our winner from last year's patio package give-away. I will also be putting pictures of the hand-made glass jewelry that has been donated by local glass artist Kevin Humes. These pieces will be available for purchase.

Last Week's Groundbreaking Ceremony
Last week, as many of you know, was a big week for us. Our beatiful ground breaking ceremony has been covered by a few news stations, and in several papers. The 1st Annual Gold Star Garden Benefit Ball was held on Saturday night, and was a success. Many of our silent auction items were sold, and everyone had a great time. Next year's Ball will be held November 13, 2010, so mark your calendars now! And as always, keep checking back for more updates. Photos of last weeks events will be up soon.

A lot of great people have been involved in the making of this memorial garden. Our Advisory Board and Board members have worked hard helping us get our intitial funding, and our 501(c)3 status. To learn more about who they are, visit the About page of our site. But many other people have come together to help us along. Kenna and Steve Rotz of
Agape Healing Center and
Dancing At Apage are donating their warehouse ballroom for our benefit ball. Countless websites, including
Dance Inc., have featured news about the ball. We even have support from various local and state officials, and have had several article in the newspaper. As our support continues to grow, we continue to be gratful for everything that everyone has done for us. Thank you!
